OLIVIER KOSTA-THÉFAINE

As an observer and contemplator, Olivier Kosta-Théfaine places the poetry and beauty of nature at the heart of his multiple research projects.
Defining himself as a "painter of landscapes", the artist turns the codes of the city into an original and delightful aesthetic exploration. A claimed suburbanite, Olivier Kosta-Théfaine is an explorer of the margins, in search of urban elements that escape us.
The artist feeds a bank of images guided by his travels and his shots, as in his series Suburban Landscape. In his works, he replaces poetry in the city world.

Olivier Kosta-Théfaine is a French artist born in Bezons in 1972. He lives and works in Paris. A self-taught artist, he was a resident at the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici in 2016-2017. His work has been exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in 2009, at the Abbaye de Maubuisson in 2012, and at the Palais de Tokyo in 2016. Some of his works have been included in public and private collections such as the Fonds Départemental d'Art Contemporain de la ville de Paris or the Domaine Vranken Pommery in Reims.
