In the heart of Paris, for more than thirty years, the Galerie Laurent Strouk has been the unavoidable spearhead of Pop Art, the New Realists, Narrative Figuration and Free Figuration, whose masterpieces it presents on a recurring basis.
In 1991, Laurent Strouk founded his gallery, which he initially set up in the Beaubourg district. From the beginning, he defends, which remains his trademark, Pop Art with Tom Wesselmann, Jim Dine, Robert Indiana, Andy Warhol, Mel Ramos, Alain Jacquet, Antony Donaldson, William Klein, Julian Opie; the New Figuration with Peter Klasen, Erró, Jacques Monory, Valerio Adami, Gérard Schlosser, Bernard Rancillac, Antonio Seguí, Pat Andrea; the Free Figuration with Keith Haring and Robert Combas. The gallery also defends the approach of the New Realists: César, Arman, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Mimmo Rotella, Jacques Villeglé, Niki de Saint Phalle, Philippe Hiquily.
The talented architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte designed the gallery when it was moved to the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district in 2002. It then established itself as a prestigious art venue with exceptional exhibitions of Keith Haring, Robert Indiana, Peter Klasen, Bernard Rancillac, Gérard Schlosser, Jacques Monory... where tradition and renewal of figurative art are mixed with a great sense of quality. With the arrival of Marie Laborde as Director in 2008, the gallery will continue to defend this entire generation of artists by bringing them together in thematic group shows: Heart (2010), Picasso Forever (2011), Paper Works (2016) and make forays into different universes as with the exhibitions Urban and Street Art (2016) and Varia (2018). Today, it opens its doors to contemporary artists who are in line with what Laurent Strouk has always defended artistically.
In March 2012, the Galerie Laurent Strouk moved to its current location, a magnificent mansion on Avenue Matignon of more than 700 square meters on two levels which allows to give all their power to the artists presented with historical one-man-shows dedicated to Valerio Adami, Robert Combas, Keith Haring, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Gérard Schlosser, Antony Donaldson, Erro... Since 2021, in order to offer greater visibility to its artists, the Galerie Laurent Strouk proposes major works of contemporary art in its 500 square meters loft and grandiose exhibitions in a vast 600 square meters space at 5, rue du Mail, in the heart of the Louvre district. All the exhibitions are enriched by a catalog of very high literary and scientific quality.
The strength of the Galerie Laurent Strouk is the unfailing, friendly and professional relationship it has with the major artists of the contemporary art scene it exhibits, starting with Robert Combas, Gérard Schlosser, Antonio Seguí, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Antony Donaldson, Erró...
Laurent Strouk's passion for the work of Keith Haring is also noteworthy, as he has one of the most remarkable collections in Europe and lends pieces to the most prestigious exhibitions. Laurent Strouk has a special relationship with Robert Combas, the genius of Free Figuration, and has organized major exhibitions of the master in his gallery (Labyrinthe de têtes, Plein la tête, Le Théâtre de la mer) and outside the walls (Grimaldi Forum - Monaco).
As a high place of contemporary art, the Laurent Strouk Gallery, on solid foundations, is also looking to the future and is open to young French and international artists such as the painter and draftsman Valentin van der Meulen and the visual artist Vincent Beaurin.
With its two magnificent locations in the center of the City of Light, the Galerie Laurent Strouk team, with its unquestionable professionalism and its warm and courteous welcome, has made its mark on the panorama of the contemporary art world. It is an essential exhibition and creation space, sought after by world-renowned artists as well as by collectors from all horizons.
